Starbucks

The two rescues that are most outstanding in my mind from the past couple months are Rudy and Starbucks.  There were even more. Think of that when you see how safe and happy your own dogs are tonight.  There have actually been Westies abandoned in dog pounds in our area in the past few months.  Those we knew about we helped by referring people in our files.

Starbucks was abandoned at the home of a golden retriever breeder.  It was supposed to be for a week’s stay, but the owners called after their return from vacation and said they didn’t want him any more and would be willing to pay to have him put to sleep.  He was four years old, and already not welcome to return to what was his second home.  Luckily the golden retriever breeder knew about rescue and contacted us for help.  Our club paid for updating his inoculations and neuter surgery while he stayed there for a while where he was perfectly happy playing with the golden puppies.  When I visited he was having such a good time I could barely get him to come to me.  He is now in his forever home with another older Westie to show him the ropes.
