June Picnic

Royal Canin Food Recall

PRODUCT QUALITY NOTICE FROM ROYAL CANIN USA
Dear Breeder:
As a fellow pet lover and very important part of the pet welfare community,
Royal Canin USA wants to inform you personally that we recently announced a
recall of eight Royal Canin USA dry pet food products that contain rice
protein concentrate (rice gluten) from China tainted with a melamine
derivative.
We assure you it is our primary focus to provide healthy diet options for
your breed, and we are taking all of the necessary steps to resolve this
issue. That is why as a precaution, Royal Canin USA is voluntarily
recalling the following eight dry pet food products.
These are the only Royal Canin USA pet food products that are part of our
recall. All of our other products are safe for dogs and cats to eat.

- ROYAL CANIN Veterinary Diet Canine EARLY CARDIAC EC22 dry
- ROYAL CANIN Veterinary Diet Canine SKIN SUPPORT SS21 dry
- ROYAL CANIN Veterinary Diet Feline HYPOALLERGENIC HP23 dry

Please stop feeding these recalled products to your animals, and please pass
on this information to any other concerned breeders and pet owners.
It is important for you to know that Royal Canin USA does not source corn
gluten from China. Corn gluten is sourced from suppliers in the US. We
feel it is important for you to also know that Royal Canin USA will no
longer use any Chinese suppliers for any of our vegetable proteins. For more

Westie Docs Program
The purposes of the Westie Docs Program are threefold:
- Be a source of useful information for first-time Westie owners, or for Westie owners who have recently relocated to hopefully locate a vet in their area who has experience in diagnosing and treating Westie health concerns.
- Enable the Westie Foundation to provide information to vets and Westie owners on medical research for Westie health concerns that we are funding, as well as Westie health information that we provide through our website, newsletters and seminars.
- Finally, we may ask the vets to assist us in obtaining Westie DNA/blood samples or cases for some of our research projects that have need of them.

Major Pet Food Recall Announced

April 2007 Meeting - Westie Auction
No, we're not auctioning off our Westies!! Our annual Westie auction will take place, Friday, April 13th at 7:00PM. It will be a night of fun and socializing while we conduct our silent auction for your favorite Westie-related items. We ask that all club members bring at least one item to donate to the auction. All proceeds go to the club to support our Annual Specialty in August. Not a member? Thinking about joining? Feel free to stop by!!

the Club House of the Sleepy Hollow Golf Club, Brecksville
Metro Park at 9445 Brecksville Road in Brecksville at 7:00
P.M. The parking lot for the Club House is located about
2.5 miles north of the off ramp from Interstate 77 North
and Brecksville Road.
